A Special Invitation
YOU are needed to help out with Sunday School!

Requirements Include:  a love of children, a desire to share and grow in your own faith, a willingness to learn something new, an opportunity to make a difference in a child's life and thereby help make the world a better place, one person at a time . . .

What you will receive:  the love and adoration of the children in your group, the appreciation of their parents, the opportunity to have fun, gain confidence and discover abilities you didn't know you have, the admiration of the staff and members of Bethel, a sense of community with other volunteers, a chance to think about and develop your own faith . . . the list could go on and on!

Prayerfully consider this opportunity to share of yourself.  Then, please contact Bethel Lutheran Church at

715-386-8821 to sign on to volunteer this year.

Still not sure . . .  There are many positions with varying time commitments available.  Check out the brief job descriptions below:

Bethel Downtown: Traditional Sunday School (3 year old – 5th grade)

Classroom teachers for multi-aged groups (ex. Preschool, K-2ndgrades, 3rd-5th grades) - Responsibilities include:

·         Preparing and teaching lessons from our chosen curriculum (the teachers' handbook will give you good direction for doing this).

·         Caring for and being willing to learn with a small group of children.

·         Time commitment is weekly, September – May (team teaching encouraged, so you can teach some weeks and attend worship other weeks)

Bethel Highlands:  Rotation Sunday School (1st – 5th grades)

Station Leaders - Responsibilities include:

·         Commit to teaching one rotation (typically 4 or 5 weeks long) in a station where you have some skill, talent or interest.  (Art, Drama, Computer, Music, Games, Food, Movie, etc.)

·         Teach the same lesson (modified for each age group, 1st - 5th grades) during each week of your rotation.  The lesson has already been developed for you.

·         Time commitment is by rotation, so you teach only for a 4 or 5 week time period.  You can chose how often you would like to teach a rotation.

Small Group Leaders - Responsibilities include:

·         Assigned to one specific class to rotate with from station to station each week (You are not responsible for teaching the lesson J )

·         Build personal relationships with the children in your small group.  You are the person they will see and connect with each week, so it’s important that you like to hang out with kids.

·         Greet students as they arrive, chat with them about their week, take attendance, and do follow-up on students who have been missing for a period of time.

·         Time commitment is weekly, September – May  (You may share this responsibility with another person, so you can attend worship some Sundays.)

Bethel Highlands:  “In the Beginning…” (3 year old – Kindergarten classes)

Small Group Leaders - Responsibilities include:

·         Build a personal relationship with a group of eight to ten children by welcoming them, sitting with them during the Large Group lesson and helping the children review and apply what they have learned.

·         The curriculum has well-planned small group times and all materials will be prepared for you weekly.  Just a brief review of the day’s lesson will help you know what to do that day.

·         Time commitment is weekly, September – May  (You may share this responsibility with another person, so you can attend worship some Sundays.)

 Drama/Music Team - Responsibilities include:

·         Willingness to help lead music and/or perform skits for large group openings for both the PreK – Kindergarten and 1st-5th grades.  Your enthusiasm will make it awesome and it could be contagious J

·         Time commitment is a weekly rehearsal and most Sunday mornings.  (Every person may not be needed every week.)

Other miscellaneous positions with varying time commitments are available as well.  These include production people (running  media equipment), skit/prop creators, administrative help during the week, and people to help with events (Christmas program, faith milestones, etc.)

If you are able to assist in one or more of these areas, please email Lisa Ruettimann at the link below and let her know what your availability is as well as your area of passion for helping.
